Canada Artistic Swimming is pleased to share the Return to Aquatics Training – Principles for a Safe Return to Sport Framework. This document has been produced through the collaborative effort of the four Canadian aquatic sport federations and represents the umbrella framework for the four sport specific plans that will be linked to it.
The universal safe return to sport practices of: physical distancing, hygiene, equipment cleaning, individual health monitoring, safe sport environment, and planning and communication form the basis of each aquatic organizations’ return to sport plan. These principles follow recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Canada to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure all participants are safe while participating in aquatics activities.
It is our belief that a fundamental and consistent approach to getting athletes back into swimming pools across Canada is advisable and will facilitate trust and clearer understanding of what is required among all partners. We recognize that specific COVID-19 scientific research is on-going and available information is evolving. This is our starting point. There will be more guidance and support to follow.
