Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS) is pleased to announce the appointment of new and returning members to its Board of Directors, following the organization’s 2025 Annual Meeting.

Two new directors were elected, both bringing strong athlete perspectives to the table. Sydney Carroll of Saskatoon, SK, was elected as CAS Athlete Representative with full voting powers. A 2024 Olympic alternate, 2023 Pan American Games bronze medallist, and four-year member of Canada’s senior national team, Sydney will be a powerful advocate for athlete voices in board decisions.

Alicia Renaud-Paquin, from Québec, also joins the Board with wide-ranging experience as an athlete, coach, and university league board coordinator. She currently serves as Manager, Athlete Relations and Marketing at AthletesCAN, where she champions athlete engagement and leadership.

At the Annual Meeting, Sara Hart (Edmonton, AB) was re-elected for a third term. Florence Klein (Québec) continues as CAS President and Chair of the Board, with Jessica Rutledge (Toronto, ON) elected Vice President.

“The addition of Alicia and Sydney strengthens the athlete voice at Canada Artistic Swimming,” said Klein. “Their experience as athletes and leaders will help us continue building athlete-centred, inclusive programs that reflect the values of our sport.”

Remaining on the CAS Board are Paul Fritz-Németh (Ottawa, ON), Jason Herbert (Vancouver, BC), Greg McIlwain (Calgary, AB), Dawn Wilson (Victoria, BC), and Catherine Barrett (St. John’s, NL), who continues as Athlete Council Chair.

CAS also extends its deep gratitude to Lindsay Duncan, Ph.D. (Montréal, QC), who concludes her service on the Board. Since 2017, Lindsay has been a driving force behind athlete- and coach-centred initiatives, most notably leading the Rise Up program to advance cultural change in artistic swimming. As Vice President, she brought energy, expertise, and vision — strengthening ties between the Board, athletes, and coaches. Her leadership and commitment leave a lasting legacy for CAS and the artistic swimming community.
