Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS) is pleased to announce its Board of Directors following the organization’s 2026 Annual Meeting, welcoming two new directors and recognizing the significant contributions of outgoing Board and Athlete Council leaders.
Bob Dobrinski of Saskatchewan and Isabelle MacLean of Ontario were elected to the Board as Directors-at-Large, while Greg McIlwain of Alberta was re-elected for a second term.
Dobrinski brings significant financial expertise, executive leadership and governance experience to the Board. His longstanding involvement with Saskatchewan Artistic Swimming also provides an important provincial sport perspective and will strengthen the Board’s financial oversight capabilities.
MacLean brings extensive leadership experience within the Canadian University Artistic Swimming League (CUASL), legal expertise and a deep understanding of artistic swimming through her involvement as a swimmer, judge and administrator.
McIlwain returns for a second term, providing valuable continuity along with extensive legal expertise and governance experience developed through his service with CAS and other national not-for-profit organizations.
Florence Klein of Québec continues as President and Chair of the Board, while Alicia Renaud-Paquin, also of Québec, was elected Vice-President.
Remaining on the CAS Board are Sydney Carroll (Saskatoon, SK), Paul Fritz-Németh (Ottawa, ON), Sara Hart (Edmonton, AB) and Jessica Rutledge (Toronto, ON). Together, the returning and newly elected directors bring a broad range of governance, sport, legal, financial and athlete experience to the leadership of CAS.
CAS also recognized the contributions of outgoing directors Dawn Wilson and Jason Herbert, as well as Catherine Barrett, whose term as Chair of the Athletes Council concludes in November 2026.
Wilson provided thoughtful leadership as Chair of the Human Resources Committee and was a strong advocate for sustainability throughout her Board service. A Masters athlete herself, her commitment to the sport extends well beyond the boardroom.
Herbert brought extensive legal and not-for-profit expertise as Chair of the Governance Committee. His sound judgment and ability to bring clarity to complex issues helped strengthen CAS governance and made him a valued contributor across the organization.
Barrett has served as Chair of the Athletes Council since 2023, significantly advancing athlete representation within CAS. She helped establish the National Athletes Network, strengthened connections with athletes across the country and consistently ensured the athlete voice was represented in CAS decision-making.
“Dawn, Jason and Catherine have each made an extraordinary contribution to Canada Artistic Swimming,” said Klein. “Their leadership, expertise and commitment have strengthened our organization in lasting ways. We are also excited to welcome Bob and Isabelle and to have Greg continue for another term. Together with our returning directors, they bring a strong combination of experience, perspectives and skills to help guide CAS in the years ahead.”
