Canada Artistic Swimming is very proud to announce that Sabrina Roussel (Blainville, QC) and Peter Matthews-Crochetiere (Roxboro, QC) will represent Canada in the 13-15 Mixed Duet event at the first-ever FINA Youth World Championships to be held in Samorín, Slovakia, on August 28 – Sep 1, 2019.

The pair, who earned gold last summer at the UANA Pan American Championships in Riverside, California, has been swimming together for a year, showing steady improvement as they competed together this season in the National Qualifier and Canadian Championships for the Dollard Synchro club. They will be coached by Katie MacLeod in Slovakia, and have also been working on their routine and figures with Rachel Fréchette and Lyne Piché at their home club.

« We are very proud to be able to send this terrific pair to the first-ever Youth Worlds, » said Julie Healy, CAS Chief Sport Officer. « Mixed Duets are a very important part of our sport’s future, and we are confident that Sabrina and Peter are paving the way for many future duets who will proudly represent Canada in the years to come. »

The mixed duet final event is slated to take place on August 31 in Samorín and will be webcast live on finatv.live.
