Markham, Ontario, will once again play host to the World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup, welcoming the world’s best to Canada on May 1-3, 2025.

After successful editions in 2023 and 2024 that saw many of the world’s leading artistic swimming nations travel to Markham to be a part of the event, Canada is looking forward to further establish its reputation as a world-class competition host.

The only nation that has hosted an edition of the World Series/World Cup every year since its inception in 2017, Canada will present the third event in the 4-stop World Cup series, and the last one before the season-ending Super Final. The 2025 competition schedule, released last month, will also feature stops in France (February) and Egypt (April), before concluding with its Super Final in China.

As the third stop in the series, the event will be the last chance for countries to earn all-important points to qualify for the Super Final. It will also be one of the last occasions to fine-tune their programs before the 2025 World Aquatics Championships, to be held later in the summer in Singapore.

Team Canada, fresh off a strong performance at the Paris Olympic Games last summer, will be on hand with a full squad to take part in its home World Cup event that will serve as great preparation for the Singapore World Championships.

“Our team has been very fortunate to have competed in Markham the past couple years,” said team veteran Kenzie Priddell. “There is something very special about walking on stage, and hearing the powerful cheers of a home crowd; it’s an energy and excitement that is unmatched. We are looking forward to feeling the support of our country again this year!”

The 2025 Markham World Cup will be held with the support of the Government of Ontario, the Government of Canada as well as the City of Markham.

“Our government is proud to support the 2025 World Aquatics Artistic Swimming World Cup through our Sport Hosting Program,” said Neil Lumsden, Minister of Sport. “Hosting the World Cup again reinforces Ontario’s reputation as a premier destination for sport tourism and international competitions, while showcasing the state-of-the-art Markham Pan Am Centre. This event will boost the local economy, provide a platform for athletes to excel and foster community pride and engagement.”

The event will be held at the Markham Pan Am Centre, which was built in 2015 for the Toronto Pan Am Games where it hosted the badminton, table tennis and water polo events. A world-class sport complex ideal for hosting large sporting events, the Markham Pan Am Centre features a 10-lane 50-metre pool, with capacity for 2000 spectators, that is ideal for artistic swimming.

Tickets will be available online and at the door.
