4 members of the Canadian synchronized swimming community to UANA leadership roles

Synchro Canada is proud to announce that four members of the synchronized swimming community have been nominated to leadership roles within our continental organization, UANA. UANA (Union Americana de Natacion) is the sport organization overseeing the organizing, supervision and control of amateur aquatics sports in the Americas.

Dr. Margo Mountjoy has been elected Vice President of the UANA Executive Committee for a 4-year term starting in 2015. Dr Mountjoy, who is a former competitive synchronized swimming and a member of both the FINA Bureau and the IOC’s Medical Commission, will bring her extensive sport leadership experience to the role.

In addition, Lilianne Grenier, Synchro Canada’s National Development Manager, and Erika Lindner, a synchronized swimming club president/general manager and official from Ontario, have been nominated as the Canadian representatives on the UANA Technical Synchronized Swimming Committee (TSSC).

Dot Padget, a masters competitor and synchronized swimming official whose is fresh off a term as Masters leader on Synchro Canada’s Competitions Committee, will bring her vast Masters experience to UANA as a member of the Technical Masters Committee.

The nominees will begin their terms in August of this year.
