Canada Artistic Swimming is proud to announce that Calgary, AB, has been selected as the host city for its 2023 Canadian Age Group and Canadian Masters Championships.

The event will take place at the MNP Community & Sport Centre in Calgary, on May 7-13, 2023. Following the success of the 2022 edition in Quebec City, the combined event will once again not only feature athletes from the Youth (13-15), Junior (15-19) and Senior age groups, but will also welcome the Canadian Masters community who will join them on the last weekend to compete on May 12-14. In total, more than 600 artistic swimmers from across the country are expected to compete for the national titles in the solo, duet, mixed duet, team, free combination and acrobatic routine events.

Hosted by Canada Artistic Swimming in partnership with Alberta Alberta Swimming and the Calgary Aquabelles, the event will mark the return of the artistic swimming national championships in Calgary for the first time since 2016.

Jaime Thompson, Alberta Artistic Swimming’s Technical Director, is looking forward to welcoming the artistic swimming community in Calgary.

“Alberta Artistic Swimming is very excited to have the National Championships in Alberta. We can’t wait to see all of the athletes perform at this event in May. Thank you to Canada Artistic Swimming and our host club for providing such a great opportunity for our sport.”

Tourism Calgary has also committed to support the event.

“We are excited to welcome Canada’s top artistic swimming athletes in May of 2023,” said Carson Ackroyd, Senior Vice President of Sales with Tourism Calgary. “The Canadian Artistic Swimming Championships will bring competitors of all ages and their families to the city, generating a projected $4.2 million in economic activity, and providing the opportunity to showcase everything Calgary has to offer to visitors from across the country.”
