Canada Artistic Swimming is pleased to announce the athletes selected to its 2026 Junior National Team, set to represent Canada at the World Aquatics Junior Artistic Swimming Championships in Budapest from August 12–16, 2026.
The 14 athletes selected to the team will begin centralized training in Montreal at the end of June in preparation for the championships. The team was finalized following the last phase of the selection process held after the Canadian Championships in Saskatoon, concluding a multi-phase evaluation process that began last October.
“We’re very pleased with the composition of this year’s team,” said Yingli Hou, Head Coach of the 2026 Junior National Team. “It’s a strong mix of athletes with valuable international experience alongside an exciting group of emerging talent ready to make an impact. We’re looking forward to working with them in Montreal and representing Canada in Budapest with this exceptional group of athletes.”
The roster includes four athletes currently training with the Senior National Team at the National Training Centre, as well as a male athlete expected to compete in the mixed duet event.
The coaching staff for the 2026 Junior National Team was announced earlier this spring. The team will be led by Head Coach Yingli Hou of Waterloo, Ontario. She will be supported by assistant coaches Salma Elbaba of Montreal, Quebec, and Samantha Da Costa of Quebec City, Quebec, who will also serve as Team Manager.
“I want to sincerely congratulate and thank all the athletes and coaches who took part in this year’s Junior National Team Selection Process,” added CAS High Performance Manager Claudia Holzner. We were incredibly impressed by the level of talent, hard work, and passion shown throughout the season. What excites me most is the growing depth of talent across Canada and the bright future ahead for our sport. Led by Yingli, Salma, and Samantha, this team is in very good hands, and I’m excited to see this group continue to grow and succeed on the international stage.”
