With a goal to increase the pool of synchronized swimming coaches in Canada who are working towards a future vision for the sport, Synchro Canada invited Canadian coaches to apply for an apprentice opportunity with Synchro Canada National Teams.  After reviewing the applications, 10 coaches from seven different clubs will have the opportunity to learn and grow in the National Team setting this summer.

“We were absolutely delighted with both the number and quality of the applicants for this opportunity,” said Julie Healy, Chief Sport Officer, Synchro Canada.  “It demonstrates the interest in moving the sport forward and I know that working with our National Team coaches will be a truly enriching and growing experience for all of these apprentice coaches. It will be an exciting journey to coaching excellence for everyone involved.”

The coaches, who have already taken part in two days of professional development alongside the National Team coaches after the 2017 Canadian Open Championships, held in Toronto recently, will gain experience to prepare them for future opportunities. They will work with the national team development programs, play key support roles at the camps indicated and some will travel to upcoming competitions.
