Canada Artistic Swimming is pleased to announce the members of its 2023 Junior National team, which is scheduled to compete in the Pan Am Aquatics Artistic Swimming Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on August 10-13, 2023.
“The Pan Am Championships are an important step in our High Performance pathway”, stated CAS Chief Sport Officer Kerri Morgan. “We’re very excited to be sending a large Canadian roster as we prepare our athletes for 2028 and beyond.”
In total, 18 athletes were selected to the team, which will allow Canada to field 2 technical teams and one acrobatic team in Fort Lauderdale.
“Swimming 2 teams is a great opportunity to train and develop the next generation”, mentioned CAS NextGen Head Coach Kasia Kulesza. “We are excited for the competitive experience they will gain in Florida.”
In addition to the team event, Canada will also be entering 3 technical duets and 2 free duets. They will join Canada’s senior national team soloist Audrey Lamothe, still of junior age, who will be representing Canada in the solo tech and solo free events.
The coaches for the Canadian Junior Team was announced last May. Leading the team will be Karine Doré, from Boucherville, QC, who has been named Head Coach. Yingli Hou, from Waterloo, ON will be the assistant coach. They will be accompanied by Kasia Kulesza, from Montreal.
