The 2023 virtual Annual Meeting (AM) of Canada Artistic Swimming concluded on Saturday, September 16th with the election of three board members to three-year terms.
Jason Herbert, from Vancouver, BC, and Dawn Wilson, from Victoria, BC, were both re-elected for a second term.
Greg McIlwain was the sole new member elected to the Board. He is a corporate lawyer from Calgary, AB, who brings extensive extensive experience serving on public and private sector not-for-profit boards.
Remaining on the CAS Board are Florence Klein, who was re-elected in 2021 and serves as the as Board’s President, vice-president Lindsay Duncan from Montreal, QC, Sara Hart from Edmonton, AB and Jessica Rutledge from Toronto, ON. Newly elected Athlete Council Chair Catherine Barrett from St. John’s, NL remains and will sit on the Board as is mandated by her role.
Elise Truscott, from Saskatoon, SK, was the sole outgoing member of the Board and was thanked warmly for her contribution and service to the sport during her three-year term.
The new board will now turn its attention first to board orientation sessions and background training in respect in sport, diversity and inclusion and general governance.
