Canada Artistic Swimming is deeply saddened to share the passing of Jacqueline “Jackie” Hiscock, a cherished coach, international official, mentor, and friend. Her commitment to the sport was extraordinary. She shaped generations of athletes in Newfoundland and Labrador, Calgary, and across Canada, and she brought her expertise to the international stage with the same humility, passion, and integrity that defined her career.

Jackie’s passing is an immeasurable loss for artistic swimming in Canada. Her 50-year contribution to officiating and athlete development touched every level of our sport. She began as a swimmer and coach with the Canada Games team and 15 years at Calgary Aquabelles, then served as a respected national and international official.

In 2024, we were honoured to recognize Jackie with the Lifetime Achievement Award at our Centennial Gala—an acknowledgment of her 40 years of service and the lasting impact of her leadership. This past August, she retired after serving with great pride as Head Judge and gracious host at the 2025 Canada Games in St. John’s.

“We are absolutely heartbroken in Newfoundland and Labrador at this loss. Jackie was my longtime coach in St. John’s and the person who pushed me to pursue my national team ambitions. She was hugely influential in my career and in the careers of many NL athletes,” said CAS Athlete Council Chair Catherine Barrett. “Jackie was well known and respected across Canada and internationally. Her passing is a major loss for many in our community.”

Jackie’s legacy will live on in every athlete she inspired, every official she mentored, and every community she strengthened with her dedication and spirit.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Randy, Eric, the Hiscock family and all who loved her. For those wishing to learn more or share a message, please visit Jackie’s obituary and guestbook.
