5 promising Junior athletes will take part in the Pan American Sport Festival in Mexico

Synchro Canada is very pleased to be sending 5 of our very talented athletes to the Pan American Sports Festival in Mexico City on Sept 24-30.

This is the first Pan Am Sports Festival. It is a multi sport festival consisting of 20 individual sports, all of which are included in the 2015 Pan Am Games and the Olympics in 2016. The festival is considered a warm up for future Pan American Athletes and Olympic athletes from each discipline. There will be approx 3,238 athletes, as well as 1,600 coaches, delegates and other technical staff is estimated, for a general total of 4,908 participants in these Games.

Canada and the USA were invited to send 1 solo and 2 duets. The Canadian athletes attending are:

DUET – Wenjing Deng and Dylan Harding (Granite Synchro), accompanied by their coach Sheilagh Croxon

DUET – Andrée-Anne Côté and Camille Fiola-Dion (SynchroÉlite), accompanied by their coach Kasia Kulesza

SOLO – Halle Pratt (Calgary Aquabelles), accompanied by National Development Coach Lililanne Grenier.

“Even though it’s a challenge for these athletes to be ready so early in the season, it is an amazing opportunity to swim their routines on an international stage”, mentioned Jadine Cleary, Synchro Canada’s Domestic Technical Director.
