ALEXANDROPOULI, Greece, September 5, 2014 – Halle Pratt of the Calgary Aquabelles is in second position after the preliminary round in the solo competition at the Mediterranean Synchronized Swimming Cup (MSSC) in Alexandropouli, Greece.  Canada is represented by its 13-15 national team.

In the solo preliminaries, Veronika Kalinina of Russia is first at 82.9000 followed by Pratt at 78.7000 and the American Jacklyn Luu at 78.2000.

Canadian team 6th after prelims

In the team event preliminaries presented on Thursday, Canada, who was the first team to swim, offered an inspired performance to capture 6th place.  “From start to finish, the energy was great”, mentioned assistant-coach Jennifer Koptie.  “The girls had their best swim yet !”

Competition continues Saturday with figures and Sunday with the solo and team finals.
