Toronto, April 28, 2015 — Halle Pratt of the Calgary Aquabelles posted the top score in the junior preliminaries event to open the 2015 Shiseido Canadian Open Synchronized Swimming Championships presented at the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatic Centre in Toronto.Pratt tabulated 80.5140 points to take the lead. Andrée-Anne Côté of SynchroÉlite in Québec City is second with 78.9798 and Wenjing Deng of Toronto’s Aretaic Synchronized Swimming Alliance third with 78.2909. Pratt, in her first year as a junior, was the national champion in solo the last two years in the 13-15 category.The finals, featuring the top ten swimmers from the preliminary round, will take place Thursday at 3:50pm.
Junior Figures results
In the junior figures event held in that morning, the same three swimmers took the first three spots, in the same order. Pratt posted the best score with 78.828, while Côté was second with 76.893 and Deng a close third at 76.815.
Over 250 synchronized swimmers from 33 clubs, 8 countries and all 10 Canadian provinces are in Toronto to compete in the 2015 Shiseido Canadian Open Championships, along with over 80 coaches and 30 officials. The competition continues through to Saturday, May 2.
