Synchro Canada (soon to be branded Canada Artistic Swimming) is pleased to announce that the 2019 Canadian Artistic Swimming Qualifier will be held in the city of Montreal, QC, on March 26-31, 2019, at the Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard.

Hosted by Synchro Canada and Montreal Synchro, in collaboration with Natation Artistique Québec, the Canadian Qualifier is the largest competition on the national calendar and features over 450 swimmers from the 13-15, junior (16-18) and senior age groups. At stake in this competition are berths to participate in the year-end National Championships for each age group.

The 2018 Canadian Qualifier, held in Calgary, welcomed 450 athletes representing 41 clubs from 10 Canadian provinces and territories, as well as 90 coaches and 38 officials.

“We are extremely pleased to be coming back to Montreal for the 2019 Canadian Artistic Swimming Qualifier” said Chief Executive Officer, Jackie Buckingham. “Montreal is a very comfortable second home for us given our National Training Centre is located at INS -Québec and the Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard pool is seasoned in hosting successful artistic swimming events. Along with our host hotel – the Royal Versailles –we know we are in great hands. We are also thrilled to work with the knowledgeable volunteer team from the Montreal Synchro club, and our friends and colleagues at Natation Artistique Québec who will invest their time and skills to assist us on the ground as our local organizing committee.”

“Natation Artistique Québec is very proud that the province of Quebec has been selected once again to host the best artistic swimmers in Canada who will be coming to Montreal to take part in the National Qualifier, » added Éléna Thibault, president of the provincial artistic swimming federation. « I have no doubt that the Montreal Synchro club will be up to the task of making the event as successful as it was in Calgary last year. »

Montréal Synchro president Brigitte Roy is looking forward to the challenge ahead: “We have a strong team of volunteers and with the collaboration of our partners at the City of Montreal, we will make sure that all athletes competing have the support they need to be able to focus on performing well at this important competition. This will also be a great opportunity for Montreal Synchro athletes to perform in front of their friends and family.”
