Montreal set to hold the biggest synchronized swimming event in Canadian history

Canadian Synchronized Swimming Qualifier Championships will be held March 12-15 at the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard in Montreal

Montreal, March 11, 2014 – Over 670 synchronized swimmers, coaches and judges from across Canada will be at the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard (1000, avenue Émile-Journault), March 12-15, for Synchro Canada’s 2014 Canadian Qualifier Championships.

The 504 athletes, a record in Synchro Canada’s history, will represent 41 clubs from eleven Canadian provinces during this competition hosted by Synchro Québec under the leadership of Synchro Canada.

Synchronized swimmers of the 13-15, junior and senior age groups will be accompanied by 134 coaches and will perform in front of 35 judges.

Toward the 2014 Canadian Open and Espoir Championships

As its title says, the Canadian Qualifier Championships are the opportunity for athletes of the junior and senior age group to earn a ticket to the Canadian Open Championships, which will be held April 30-May 4 in Saskatoon, SK. For the athletes of the 13-15 age group, they will look to qualify through the Canadian Espoir Championships, held June 4-8 in Kamloops, B.C.

The athletes will then aim for a spot on Synchro Canada’s 2014 junior and 13-15 National Teams. Selection process will be held during and after the Canadian Open and Espoir Championships.
