Getting into the sport : “I first saw synchro on the Treehouse when I was 6 years old and I told my mom I wanted to do it so she looked around and found the Strathcona Synatics. I tried out in September and I fell in love with sport.”
Career highlights: Great results in international events; 15th in figures at 2014 Comen Cup, 5th in Team at Junior Worlds 2016, 2nd in Senior Team at US Open 2017.
Family: Mom and Dad own a renovation company in Calgary; she is an only child but her two cousins are like sisters to her.
Outside interests: Used to dance but had to quit as synchro hours became too much for her to continue ; currently in her spare time she usually relaxes or drives up to Edmonton to see her family.
Favorite quote: “Champions believe in themselves even if no one else does.”
Synchro Idols: Natalia Ischenko – since she was 8 years old.
Future aspirations: Cassie wants to be a Chartered Accountant after her synchro career.
Why she loves synchro : “I love performing for a crowd and I also love the challenge it gives me to keep pushing harder.”
