Ottawa, ON – Synchro Canada is proud to announce the members of its 2018 13-15 National Team, scheduled to compete at the UANA Pan American Championships in Riverside, California, on August 6-11, 2018. With only one returning member from 2017, this young team truly represents a new generation of talented high-performance athletes, with members coming from 7 different clubs in 4 provinces.
The athletes took part in a selection process that started at the National Qualifier in Calgary last March and culminated in a final evaluation phase held at the conclusion of the 2018 Canadian Espoir Championships in Surrey, BC.
The coaching team for the Canadian 13-15 Team was announced last March. Leading the team will be Manny Wu, from Ajax, ON, who has been named Head Coach. Laura Swift, from Pointe-Claire, QC will be the assistant coach.
The two coaches were pleased with the results of the selection process. “We are very excited to be working with such talented athletes. Throughout the selection process they have demonstrated their abilities and we can see how hard they have all worked in their clubs to earn a spot on this team.”
“Congratulations to the newly selected team,” added Synchro Canada Technical Director Leslie Sproule. “The evaluation process utilized this year demanded that our athletes demonstrate the ability to repeat consistent performances as we used the Qualifier and Espoir figure results to identify our top group. These athletes have solid foundational skills and with the strong and complementary coaching skills of Manny and Laura, I anticipate successful performances at UANA this summer”

A training camp will be held in Toronto in preparation for the competition. The athletes will be training at the Toronto Pan American Sports Complex and the Markam Pan Am Centre from July 11 until August 5, 2018, and will also be competing in the figure event at the 2018 SYNC held in Toronto on July 18-22.
