“We are very proud of the new team we have assembled for our Centre of Excellence”, said Meng Chen, head coach of the national senior team.  “At trials, these athletes showed they were ready to proudly represent Canada and showed what we expect from high performance athletes vying for excellence. I would also like to thank all the athletes that participated in the trials. I hope that those who were not selected will continue their careers and attempt to gain a berth on the Centre of Excellence team in the future.”

“We feel the addition of our 4 talented newcomers will create the perfect development environment for our team as we continue working towards our long-term goal of having a national team that is stronger technically with more complete athletes and with a Canadian style that is internationally recognized”, added Chen.  “We are looking forward to a great 2015 season as we get ready for our National Championships and the Pan Am Games in Toronto and the World Championships in Russia.”

Synchro Canada CEO Jackie Buckingham concurred with Meng Chen.

“Synchro Canada is excited by the youth and energy on Team Canada, and by the potential for most members to compete in the next two Olympic cycles. The new additions complement this very talented team of 12 returning swimmers and we are extremely optimistic about our National Team’s bright future internationally”.
