Montreuil, March 21, 2014Jacqueline Simoneau of Montreal continued to impress on the international stage Friday placing second in the preliminaries of the solo free program at the the France Open Make Up For Ever synchronized swimming competition.

Yukiko Inui of Japan leads with 90.6667 points, Simoneau follows at 88.3333 and Linda Cerruti of Italy is third at 87.8000.  The final is on Saturday. Last weekend at the German Open, Simoneau ranked second in the free program.  

In the duet free final, Wenyan Sun and Xuechen Huang of China won the gold medal with 92.2000, Inui and Risako Mitsui of Japan were second at 90.3333 and Lolita Ananasova and Anna Voloshyna of Ukraine third at 90.0000.

Simoneau and Karine Thomas of Gatineau, Que., in their first season together, were fourth with 88.4667.

Competition ends Saturday with the solo free final and the team technical and free events.
