Regina, January 8, 2014 – 2008 and 2012 Canadian Synchronized Swimming Olympian Élise Marcotte will be in Regina, SK, January 11-12, to meet with Regina Synchro young athletes for a technical visit at the Lawson Aquatic Centre (1717, Elphinstone St.).

During the weekend, Élise Marcotte will work with coaches and athletes to improve basic technical elements and routines of the participants. She will also share her experiences and tips she learned throughout her career.

“I’m really excited to have this opportunity to be able to share my passion, my experience and my technical knowledge with the kids”, said Élise Marcotte. “I hope that this visit will inspire them so they will dream of one day becoming a national team athlete. Sport is such a great school of life! I think it is important to share what I have learned in the water and outside. Who knows, maybe one day they will represent Canada at major international competitions or at the Olympic Games!”

Élise Marcotte

Élise Marcotte is from L’Ancienne-Lorette, QC, and represented Canada at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. Senior National Team member from 2006 to 2012, Élise Marcotte took part in the 2007, 2009 and 2011 FINA World Aquatic Championships where she won a bronze medal in combo in 2009 and 2011. At the 2010 FINA World Cup, she got two bronze medals in team and combo. She also won two gold medals in duet and team events at the 2011 Pan American Games, and one silver medal in team in 2007. She was also a member of the 2004 and 2006 FINA World Junior Championships.
