Lisa Sanders has wanted to represent Canada since watching the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on TV. She was a member of the York Synchro Club from 2004 to 2009 before joining Granite Synchro until 2012. As a member of the junior national team in 2011 and 2012, she won gold in the team event at the 2011 Pan American Championships before attending the 2012 World Junior Championships where she was an alternate for the team combination event. After moving up to the senior national team in 2012, she competed at the 2013 Summer Universiade where Canada finished fourth in the team technical and free events. In 2014 she made her debut at the FINA World Cup and also competed at the FINA World Trophy. Lisa was a member of the Canadian team that won gold in the team event at the Toronto 2015 PanAm Games in July, which she said was the highlight of her synchro career. Lisa announced her retirement at the beginning of november 2015 (read the press release here).
